These Walls Have Ears

It's Almost Holiday Time

Here we go for this week's gigs:

7/04
The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Damn Arms 8pm, Annandale Hotel,$39.60 (+ bf)
The Casanovas, The Model School 8.30pm, Hopetoun Hotel, $15
Riff Random, The Mercy Arms, Teenagers in Tokyo 8pm, Spectrum, $10
8/04
Hilltop Hoods, Funkoars, Cross Bred Mongrels, Roundhouse, $22 (+ bf) all ages
Here's one for those still lovin' their classic rock
Hotel California: The Eagles Tribute 9pm, The Basement, $22 (+ bf)
If you miss the (Int) Noise Conspiracy on Friday, they are also playing again on Saturday for the same price, and same place.
The most hyped-up band is coming to Oz and NZ. So to all the Arctic Monkeys followers: THE TIX FOR THEIR SHOWS GO ON SALE THIS FRIDAY (7 APR). And any music buff would know that these would be the hottest tickets in town and that all of their gigs will sell out.
On another front, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs album Show Your Bones, would have to be my music highlight so far, this year. Notable songs wouls be Dudley (which sounds almost like a nusery rhyme melody), Way Out and Honeybear (I can see this track being played in Indie clubs. And you can dance to this song as well!).
And ...
I have joined the Gibson Les Paul realm - it's almost heaven, but it's the realm where you feel like pulling off a Jimmy Page solo or one of Slash's riffs. It's a guitar that infects and inspires you that it becomes a material marriage - you just don't want to put it down. Here is more info at Gibson's site. For some strange reason, music shops like Allens and Music City Sydney are dropping their prices for Gibson (and Fender) guitars. SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT! I certainly did.
